Clinic Assistant

Core responsibilities

Great working environment. Flexibility to have 4 work days week (34 Hours weekly) for continuing education only. (Saturday 9am to 3pm is essential).

Treatment-room preparation

• Prepare and disinfect treatment rooms between patients.
• Set up instruments, dressings, consumables and equipment according to the planned treatment.
• Prepare equipment for procedures such as routine nail/callus care, wound dressing, orthotic assessment and other clinic services.

During podiatry treatment

• Assist the podiatrist with retrieving and passing instruments and consumables.
• Position equipment and help maintain an efficient treatment field.
• Prepare dressings, padding and other materials as directed.
• Assist patients with safe positioning and movement where appropriate.
• Enter non-clinical or dictated information into the clinic system where permitted.
• Take photographs or measurements when instructed and with appropriate consent.
• Help keep the treatment room organised while the podiatrist works.

After treatment

• Clean and reset the room immediately.
• Handle used instruments according to the clinic's infection-control process.
• Dispose of clinical waste appropriately.
• Prepare patient aftercare materials and products prescribed/recommended by the podiatrist.
• Reinforce podiatrist-approved aftercare instructions rather than independently providing clinical advice.

Orthotics / biomechanics support

• Assist with footwear preparation and basic measurements.
• Retrieve orthoses and organise fitting appointments.
• Record administrative measurements/information under the podiatrist's direction.
