The Role

We are looking for a Technical Director to lead work across AI, enterprise platforms and technology. Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, you will join the digital leadership team and serve as a senior technical lead for the agency and our clients.

You will work with the Chief Digital Officer to apply AI in both our own business and client work. This includes finding practical uses for AI in planning, creative development, measurement and delivery testing approaches within the agency and taking proven applications to clients as services, products or transformation projects.

You will also develop our platform and product capability. You will help clients get more from the marketing platforms and data they already have through better integrations, applications, personalisation and new services. You will work with teams in Singapore and India, as well as VCCP London's technology and AI specialists. You will lead technical conversations in client workshops, pitches and strategic planning.

You will set the strategic direction for CRM, marketing automation, SEO, AEO and lifecycle design. You will build the team structure, governance and partner relationships needed for the delivery team to run execution independently.

What You Will Be Doing

AI, client transformation and workflow design

• Work with the Chief Digital Officer to set priorities for AI work across the agency and for clients.

• Design, test and introduce AI-assisted workflows for agency operations, creative and marketing delivery, and client work.

• Test AI tools and automation platforms within GOVT VCCP, then use what works to shape practical client recommendations.

• Develop proven AI applications into client services, project scopes and new-business opportunities.

• Lead the technical side of AI workshops, planning sessions, transformation projects and pitches.

• Set standards for the responsible use of AI, including security, governance, quality control and use of client data.

• Work closely with VCCP London's technology and AI teams to bring relevant products and expertise to APAC clients.

Platform technology and product development

• Lead technical strategy for enterprise marketing platforms, including CRM, marketing automation, personalisation, CDPs and related data environments.

• Design integrations, applications and platform architecture that help clients get more value from their existing technology.

• Develop repeatable services across platform technology, AI and creative technology, with clear use cases, delivery models and commercial value.

• Identify and build technology-led approaches that improve creative work, customer experience and performance marketing.

• Build relationships with enterprise platform partners and identify opportunities for training, joint capability development and new business.

Client strategy and technical leadership

• Lead client conversations across AI, CRM, personalisation, platform architecture, SEO, AEO and lifecycle marketing.

• Set the strategic direction for CRM and journey architecture across relevant accounts, ensuring recommendations are commercially sound and technically realistic.

• Provide senior technical advice in pitches, planning sessions, and solution design, helping clients make clear decisions where technical constraints or trade-offs exist.

• Work with account, strategy, performance, data and delivery leads to define scopes that are clear, ambitious and deliverable.

• Keep up with the technology, platform, and AI developments that matter to our clients, and provide a clear view of what is worth pursuing.

Team, governance and delivery quality

• Lead and develop the India-based digital marketing and technology team, setting clear roles, standards, escalation paths and development plans.

• Identify capability gaps and recruit, onboard or manage specialist support where needed.

• Set practical standards for platform administration, workflow quality, documentation and technical delivery.

• Work with project-management and operations colleagues to manage scope, improve handovers and keep work moving.

Our ideal candidate

• You have substantial experience in software engineering, solutions architecture or technical consulting. You can make sound architecture decisions and solve practical delivery problems.

• You have deep experience with enterprise marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle Responsys, Braze, HubSpot or Marketo, including how they connect to wider customer and data systems.

• You can design CRM, personalisation and lifecycle strategies, including the journeys, data, integrations and operating model required to make them work.

• You have applied AI or machine learning in a marketing, customer-experience or enterprise setting and have delivered work beyond a proof of concept.

• You can design and assess integrations using APIs, middleware, data pipelines and related technical approaches.

• You have strong technical SEO capability and understand AEO, GEO, analytics and search-performance measurement.

• You can use web and marketing analytics tools such as GA4, Google Search Console and Looker Studio to identify issues and make recommendations.

• You can turn technical capability into a clear client proposition, lead a workshop or pitch, and communicate confidently with senior non-technical stakeholders and specialist teams.

• You have experience leading remote, offshore or distributed teams and can set direction without becoming a bottleneck.

• You are comfortable in an agency, consultancy or client-services environment where priorities change, and several disciplines need to work together.

• You write and speak English clearly and can explain complex ideas in straightforward terms.

Nice to have

• You have designed and launched AI-assisted workflows in a live business environment.

• You have built products, developed repeatable consultancy services or taken a technical offer to market.

• You have experience in creative technology, web application development or technology-led customer-experience design.

• You have worked with CDPs, customer data or identity architecture.

• You understand the current AI tooling landscape, including language models, automation platforms and low-code or no-code build tools.

• You have developed partnerships with enterprise technology vendors.

• You have worked across Singapore or wider APAC markets, or with regional agency networks.
