Logistics Project Manager – Roles & Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end logistics projects
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
2. Supply Chain Coordination
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, freight forwarders, and internal teams
- Ensure smooth flow of goods from origin to destination
3. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage project budgets
- Monitor logistics costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources
4. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Provide regular project updates and reports
- Handle issues, escalations, and client expectations
5. Risk Management
- Identify potential risks in logistics operations
- Develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations
6. Process Improvement
- Analyze logistics processes and implement improvements
- Enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and optimize supply chain performance
- Implement best practices and new technologies
7. Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise logistics teams and project staff
- Assign tasks and monitor team performance
- Provide training and support where necessary
8. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation for shipments and projects
- Maintain compliance with customs, safety, and legal requirements
- Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities
