As we deliver our ambitious 2030 Growth Strategy, we’re looking for a Lead Applications Scientist, Sun & Skin Care.

Who We’re Looking For

• Education: A degree in Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field; an MSc or PhD is preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in Skin/sun clinical testing of personal care formulations for claims support.
• Direct hands-on experience for in-vitro SPF and skin care clinical studies measurements (eg corneometer, TEWL, Skin Colour, Hydration, Sebum, Wrinkle, Elasticity,etc).
• Strong knowledge of skin/sun testing methodologies with proven ability to develop new testing protocols.
• Cross-functional collaboration capability with experience leading NPD and EPD projects.
• Basic formulating and troubleshooting of skin & sun care formulations.
• External collaboration experience.
• Project management skill to progress multiple projects simultaneously to successful conclusions independently.
• Adaptable, creative and tenacious with good planning and problem solving skills
• Ability to write scientific reports supported by robust statistical analysis methods.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of regulations governing product label claims and claims substantiation.
• Consumer research and panel recruitment/management experience.
• Publications and presentations at technical conferences.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead Technical Investigations: Design and execute lab experiments to develop novel skin and sun care formulations, using data-driven investigation to troubleshoot problems and determine the next stages of research.
• Provide Commercial Technical Support: Act as the primary technical link for sales and marketing by answering customer inquiries, recommending products, and delivering technical training sessions both internally and during client visits.
• Manage End-to-End Projects: Independently lead NPD, EPD, and Open Innovation projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality technical data and formulations are delivered on schedule.
• Drive Open Innovation & Partnerships: Understand the technology needs of Croda Markets, and proactively scout external technology partners to solve market needs, introducing them to internal stakeholders and managing the execution of collaborative innovation projects.
• Communicate: Translate complex scientific findings into clear insights for various business groups (R&D to Sales and Marketing) and provide updates on developments on projects.

• Role is based in Croda Singapore IBP office (Jurong East).
• Business travel requirement: Occasional travel to support customer visits/roadshows/exhibitions/conferences.
